What benefits do I get from playing the Game of Games™?
The most important thing you get when from the playing the Game of Games™ is a supportive framework for reaching a higher level of achievement. Expert coaching from game facilitators, game prizes awarded for best results and how you play the game, and the camaraderie of other players help to lift you towards the realization of your goal. In addition, professional coaches and facilitators are eligible to receive additional benefits from playing the game.
What types of goals can I use for my game play?
You can customize the game for any type of goal: either concrete, tangible goals or more abstract ones. Most goals fall into one of four different categories: goals about personal development; goals about relationships; goals about creating something; or goals about reaching a number or milestone.
A goal about personal development might include wanting to lose twenty pounds or wanting to achieve more inner peace. A goal about relationships might include finding a soulmate or being a more supportive partner. A goal about creating something might include the creation of a book or a new business. A goal about reaching a number or milestone might include making $100K a year or achieving a million in sales.
How is the Game of Games™ played via conference call and over the Internet?
It is more accurate to say that the Game of Games™ is played in virtual time, place and space and in actual time, place and space. Players convene once a week on a conference call and participate in game-related activities, then participate in goal-related activities in the time between calls. They then record their results plus get feedback from other players on an Internet based game log. Results are then recorded on an Internet based scoreboard.
I don’t get all this
business about games. Why don’t I just take a workshop or a how-to
course as a means to help me realize my goals?
Workshops and “how-to” courses can be excellent vehicles for
helping you realize goals. We submit, however, that playing a game
is an unparalleled vehicle for achieving results. There is a body of
theory that supports the contention that the state of play – the
core element of games -- supports cognition, creation and
creativity. Although there is no substitute for effort in the
creative process, play allows us to transmute effort into
effortlessness. When we play a game well, we enter into a super
conscious zone in which can surpass our conscious perception of
what’s possible for us to achieve.
I
don't get it? How will focusing on other’ goals help me achieve my
goal? Won't I just be wasting time?
You may indeed be one of those
rare people who can achieve your goals by going it alone with
single-minded focus. And if so, we salute you. For you it may indeed
be a waste of time to play the Game of Games™. If you are like the
rest of us, you might find that the stimulation of being in the
midst of a community of achievers -- all driven by deadlines, all
dedicated to helping you as much as they help themselves
-- might push you to achieve what you haven’t achieved
before. In the process, you might find that helping solve other’s
creative challenges can unfreeze your approach to your own. Helping
others might also help you view your own situation in new and
unexpected ways.
